Portland High School Scholarship Summary
The Antonia J. Daley Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Portland, Maine. The foundation was established by Antonia Daley’s family and colleagues after her unexpected death in June of 2018. In the fall of 2018, Antonia was planning to attend the University of Maryland and had been admitted into the school’s criminal justice program.
The Antonia J. Daley Foundation is proud to announce a scholarship for eligible seniors in collaboration with Portland High School. This scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $2500 to one or two seniors.
Scholarship Guidelines and Criteria:
- The scholarship is awarded to a senior who plans to attend an accredited educational program and seek a degree (associate or bachelor) in a field of study that advances the causes of criminal justice and reform, social justice, human rights, and/or civic engagement.
- Applicant must have demonstrated a history of community service involvement through their high school career
- Through the applicant’s statement of intent, peer recommendation, and teacher/professional recommendation, the applicant must demonstrate leadership skills, civic engagement, commitment to criminal justice reform efforts, social justice and/or human rights, inclusive and fair treatment towards peers in the high school community and strong academic and work ethic.
The application review process with be completed by members of the board of the Antonia J. Daley Foundation.

- Current resume
- Teacher or professional recommendation
- Peer recommendation
- Academic transcript.
